Enhanced Scheduling Experience: Latest Updates

We've been working hard to make scheduling easier and more intuitive. Here's what's new in the latest update, including mobile optimizations, flexible time selection, host preferred dates, and enhanced availability visualization.

🚀 New Features

1. Mobile-First Calendar Interaction

We've completely revamped the mobile calendar experience to make it faster and more responsive:

  • Instant date selection: Single tap now selects dates immediately—no more holding and waiting
  • Optimized touch handling: Removed the 300ms delay for lightning-fast response
  • Better mobile UX: Smoother interactions that feel native to mobile devices

2. Flexible Time Selection

We've made time slot selection more flexible and intuitive:

  • Single slot selection: Click or tap individual time slots to toggle them on/off
  • Range selection: Hold and drag to select multiple consecutive time slots at once
  • Works everywhere: Both mobile and desktop support both selection methods seamlessly

3. Host Preferred Dates

Hosts can now guide their group by marking preferred dates:

  • Mark preferred dates: Hosts can mark dates they prefer in the calendar
  • Visual indicator: Preferred dates show with an amber/yellow background and star icon (⭐)
  • Visible to all: All members can see which dates the host prefers
  • Easy toggle: Simple button appears when a date is selected to mark/unmark it

4. Enhanced Availability Visualization

We've improved how availability is displayed to make it easier to understand at a glance:

  • Color coding:
    • 🟢 Green: All members available
    • 🔵 Blue: Your selected times
    • 🟡 Yellow: Some members available
    • 🟣 Light Purple: All except you (lighter shade to distinguish from blue)
  • Availability counts: See exactly how many people selected each time slot
  • User identification: "(You)" label clearly marks your own selections

5. Improved Time Display

Times are now displayed in a more familiar format:

  • 12-hour format: All times now shown in AM/PM format (e.g., "2:30 PM" instead of "14:30")
  • Consistent formatting: Same format used across time slots and date statistics
  • Better readability: Easier to read and understand at a glance

6. Smart Time Range Suggestions

The app now automatically calculates and displays the best meeting times:

  • Common time range: Automatically calculates the longest continuous block where everyone is available
  • Example: If one person selected 5-9 PM and another selected 6-10 PM, it shows "6-9 PM" as the common range
  • Helps decision-making: Makes it easier to identify optimal meeting times

7. Calendar Improvements

The calendar view has been enhanced for better clarity:

  • Color-coded events:
    • Blue: Your selected times only
    • Yellow: Other users' selected times
    • Green: Everyone selected (including you)
  • Better text contrast: Dark text on yellow backgrounds for improved readability
  • Visual clarity: Easier to see availability at a glance

📱 How to Use

For All Users

  1. Select dates: Simply tap or click dates in the calendar
  2. Select time slots: Click individual slots or drag to select a range
  3. View availability: See color-coded slots and availability counts
  4. See preferred dates: Look for dates marked with ⭐ (host preference)

For Hosts

  1. Mark preferred dates: Select a date and click "Mark" to set it as preferred
  2. Remove preferred dates: Click "Remove" on a preferred date to unmark it
  3. Guide your group: Preferred dates help guide members toward dates that work best for you
